Rukwa Coalfields

• Acquired Q3 2010.
• Initial 70% ownership in 2 prospecting licences and 66 primary mining licences covering the Namwele, Mkomolo and Muze deposits of the Rukwa Coalfield, with an option to increase holding to 90%.
• 100% interest in a reconnaissance prospecting licence surrounding the Namwele and Mkomolo deposits.
• Total land area under consideration 338.47km2.

• Namwele deposit was discovered in 1914.
• No known JORC compliant resources estimated.
• Small-scale mining in recent past at Namwele deposit with this product was previously sold to Mbeya Cement.
• Current potential local end users; Mbeya Cement, Mbeya Paper Mills and Mbeya Textiles.
• The coal quality reported as moderate to low sulphur with a high ash content and thermal characteristics of sub bituminous to bituminous coals.
• 1938 Geological report indicates coking coal present, buts need to be verified.
• Exploration in 1920s and 1930s included sinking of 4 shallow shafts and drilling five boreholes identifying coal in at least one seam of 3.2m thickness.

• 105km2 acquired in 2 licences, 100% ownership. • Good potential for both Coal and Uranium.
• Karoo sediments – Ruhuhu Basin (host Tanzanian coalfields).
• Sediment-hosted roll front deposits in Karoo Basins. • Coalfield development 18km to north of Matiri licences.
• Unconformity-related Uranium potential similar to Athabasca (Canada).
